Better Skills/Spells Effects
few minutes ago i was playing with my necromancer, and since im a bit tired, i started to watch every spell effect i could make.
So..from what ive seen, Gw skills/spell effects sucks , 90% of all the spells make a little green circle and some sparks here and there -.-.
So i was thinking that it would be nice if in the future, anet could add some better effects. Even diablo2 has better spell effects than guildwars who has one of the best graphics out there. For example, if i use spiteful spirit, make it so u can see some kind of spirit like thing swirl around the foe or something...not a green circle over your head -.-. With the skills/spells name we have there is allot of potential of making nice effects with them. Imagine using Life transfer on a foe and actually see the energy stream coming from the foe to you.
Anyways...lol..i have nothing more to say.

Acctually, this will procude no lag.
An insight about lag: it is caused when your computer tries to exchange information with the GW server.
Having higher quality effects will not increase lag, because the information that the server sends you remains the same- a spell was cast. Its up to your PC to display the effects of the spell which are already stored on your computer.
If your PC is weak, then it will cause a slowdown in preformance, but that is not lag.
On topic: I think people have gotten used to the effects of spells.

Put your textures, shaders and Postprocessing at max.
Are the effects still bad? Yes? Hm... well... then it's not problem of graphics, it's problem of taste.
The icons over the head of the casters are there for a reason. You can click on them to quickly select the enemy casting that spell.
Mesmers can quickly interrupt if they pay attention to those icons.

ok yea i would love new effects cause those icons are getting boring, and the puppeteer um ya thats a common misconception anet has made as much money releasing the expansions as they would have if they had charged a monthly fee, but at least its optional :P

/disagreed.
1. You're playing a game that has no monthly fee.
2. This takes money and time and probably would delay future updates/plans from Anet.
3. Weekend Events all the time.
Sorry but I see this too much for a great company like Anet.

STOP MENTIONING NO MONTHLY FEE for gods sake let anet worry about finances, im telling you just cause there is no monthly fee does not make anet dirt poor...... and also just because gw has no monthly fee does not mean it just has to be a lesser game, anet has never let that stop them. i could really give a rats ass about the monthly fee issue i would still play gw even if it had a monthly fee because its a great game and stupid bull like "oh anet cant do that, there is no monthly fee so you should just live with a lesser game" needs to stop. gw has great prospects for it, i can see gw2 outshining WoW but you need to stop with the anet is poor bull.....
